Our on-site Organic Bakery is certified with the Biodynamic Agricultural Association.

Our bakery is open six days a week from 9am to 5pm.

Here at Food For Thought in Seaton Delaval, we have an organic bakery which produces wholesome foods that are suitable for the widest possible number of people. We bake using only natural ingredients and use techniques which harness nature and our bodies abilities. We use slow processing techniques which take advantage of natural processes that mankind has evolved with over millennia.

 

All the bakery's products are handmade and display the natural variations that this brings. We do not use processing aids to speed up production, instead our view is we are going to eat this, so we will make it wholesome. Our slow techniques allow the natural microbial populations present in the flours to create a more digestible flavoursome loaf.

Our yeasted breads

WHOLE SPELT BREAD

Ingredients: Wholemeal and white spelt flour, water, olive oil, agave syrup, yeast and salt.

                

WHITE SPELT BREAD

Ingredients: White spelt flour, water, olive oil, agave syrup, yeast and salt.

WHOLEWHEAT BREAD

Ingredients: Whole-wheat flour, water, sunflower oil, yeast and salt.

FIVE GRAIN BREAD     

Ingredients: Wheat flour, rye flakes, flaxseeds, Sunflower seeds, oats, water, yeast and salt.

Artisan sourdough bread

FRENCH COUNTRY HARVEST SOURDOUGH

Ingredients: White wheat flour, water, whole-wheat flour, rye flour and salt.

                       

WHEAT SOURDOUGH

Ingredients: White and whole-wheat flour, water, olive oil and salt.

 

MALTHOUSE SOURDOUGH

Ingredients: Whole wheat flour, malted wheat flakes, rye flour, malt flour, vitamin C, water and salt.

SPELT SOURDOUGH

Ingredients: Whole and white spelt flour, Spelt sourdough, salt and water.

(All the above have no added baker's yeast.)
